I lived on Eagle Street when I was a little girl and I loved going to Eddie Ashkar's, he had the biggest selection of comic books and he was a really nice guy! It was sorta sad to see him have to leave his little corner store. Posted: 08/11/2003 Can you name any of the people? Eddie Ashkar Comments... Posted: 08/13/2003 Can you name any of the people? The Synagogue was there, Cramers Meat Market and of course, my favorite, Talarico's Italian Market! Posted: 05/17/2005 Can you name any of the people? The girl hiden behind Ed's right is Linda Ziter Posted: 05/17/2005 Comments... I worked for Eddy Ashkar for a couple of years part time evenings and on Sundays. His motto was always the customer first. There was no one as honnest and sincere as he. His wife was also a good person and of course one has to mention his pet boxer. I recall the day it tore up his convertible when he left it alone while stopping at the store. It was a shame to close down Eddys' corner for it was a great landmark. He had purchased the store from Mr. Lataif, not sure of the spelling who was a neighbor of mine on Gallup St. Posted: 05/17/2005 Can you name any of the people? Anna Tomasello Comments...
