Posted: 11/18/2001 Comments... I don't think this was the Eagle Street Bridge! I walked over that Bridge for many years, it had arches, and was much wider. That ole Eagle Street Bridge held on during the many floods that closed the Marshall St. and Brown Street Bridges before flood control. I was 10 years old when the 49 flood took out the back end of Pietri Cleaners...we had just crossed over the bridge, heard a roar and turned to see the back end of the building falling into the roaring river...many ladies lost their fur coats that day! That's a day, I'll never forget! Posted: 11/12/2003 Comments... Whoops, this is Eagle St...I was wrong! I can see the Shapiro sign and the apartment house...I guess my memory isn't as good as I thought! Posted: 06/22/2005 Comments... his is to narrow for Eagle St. Bridge. Looks like on in the Blackington area. Posted: 04/08/2006 Comments... This is the Eagle St. Bridge...some fool drove his bug on the sidewalk! If you look hard, you will see a sign "SHAPIRO"...that was on the corner of Eagle and Canal Streets. This was my neighborhood! Posted: 02/23/2010 |
