It was in the late 40s or 50s. The units were training at Camp Drum NY and left in the EARLY MORNING, so that is no doubt the reason she has a coat on. Those were the days. Posted: 07/13/2005 Comments... I RECALL MY DIVISION, THE GOLDEN ACORN, 86TH, 346TH INF. REGIMENT REPLACED THE YANKEE DIVISION IN THE ALSACE LORRRRAIN AREA IN FRANCE, WWll, 1944. THEY CAME DOWN THE MOUNTAINSIDE AND WE HAD TO RE-TAKE IT AND SUFERRED MAJOR LOSSES. THIS WAS JUST PRIOR TO THE BATTLE OF THE BULGE. WE WERE SENT THERE ON OPEN FLATBED TRUCKS. Posted: 10/02/2006 |
