Doubt if the place was even in Northern Berkshire county, no place that big to hold the crowd shown. Maybe one of the Armories though.

National Gaurdsman..maybe their annual Ball...I just remember my parents getting all dressed up for an event at the Armory.

Not 1957! I was 18 that year and we didn't dress like the folks in the picture..check the hair...I would say this picture was taken in the 40's. Could this be a big dance at Meadowbrook? My parents went to big events there when I was little. If I remember correctly there were huge dances and athletic events.

because of the tuxedos and corsages , i would gues that this is a ball...but I don't see Alert uniform anywhere...It has to be late 40's because so many men were gone during the early 40
