Palmer's Farm, River RD Pownal, VT

This picture was taken in the spring about 1977 or 78, I was plowing the corn ground south of my parents house. The house and the Palmer farm is in the background looking North with the old lime quarry on RT. 346 behind it in the distance.

This location was beautiful for a farm and seemed to have everything: a river valley, the mountain-suround. And if you went up onto old Rte 7, it looked pretty good from above, as well. It took late fall or winter to pick out from that viewpoint where the hunting lodge was, set in a cleft above the farm. If one set out to design a Vermont farm, this would be a good template.
