| ![]() | ![]() Comments... My recollection is that gasoline prices were roughly 20 cents per gallon prior to the first "energy shortage" in the early 1970s. During that episode, the cost approached, or slightly surpassed 75 cents. During the second "crisis", this in the late 1970s, gas prices rose to around the one dollar per gallon level. The "19 cents" sign was from the early '50`s. The sign came from a Gas Station that used to be just down the road from this Gibbs Station.
